I Miss Spamusement
12:36 pm, April 11, 2008

I’ve talked before about Spamusement, a webcomic of cartoons based on e-mail spam subject lines. It was fun, and while I can understand that it might lead to burnout, I’m sad it’s not being updated regularly.

At any rate, I recently subscribed to the J-List new products RSS feed, and it’s quite an experience. Cute little kitty dolls, interesting Pocky flavors, and of course lots and lots of strange porn.

Some of the porn titles are odd enough to remind me of Spamusement, and so I’m putting together a little tribute. An homage, if you will. These are three cartoons based on actual Japanese pornography titles. Readers, I give you: JapanesePornMusement.

Indecent Juicy Vagina Diagnosis

24 Hours Anytime and Anywhere Semen Bazooka

Lesbian Initiation

Check out the feed if you want to play along. Obviously enough, it contains nakedness.

I know exactly how you feel. ;.; And let me say that yours are an honor to the site.

I don’t know where to get the feed . . . I want to get it though. Where do I go to get the feed on the J-list site? how exactly do I go about getting it?

Oh man, well done! You truly have an eye for the odd…

Well, I can’t compete with the semen bazooka, but I’ll throw in Ejaculation Theory.

The bazooka was way funnier than I was prepared for. And given the history of Spamusement I had steeled myself for quite a bit of funny.

In the absence of Spamusement I’ve found Fresh Spam to be a more than suitable replacement.

The feed is linked as “the feed” at the end of the post.

The last one reminded me of a joke I recall from my Berkeley days:

    Female: “I’m a lesbian.”
Male: “Oh really? What softball team do you play on?”

We should lock the guy who makes Spamusement and Lore in a basement somewhere and force them to make moar. Also, I’m secretly hoping only these will be the only things to survive and thus delight future generation and let them understand how it was in the early 3rd millennium. Let them write theses on Cabinet Sanchez, I say!

I’m sort of torn, erkki. While I’d like to crack a bullwhip and get the Spamusment creator back to the drawing board, he also happens to create some of my favorite software over at Panic… maybe if we deny him sleep he’ll be able to do both?

Pfffff J-List sells eyepatches! And makes a half-assed attempt to pretend they’re for medical purposes. Awesome.

Erkki – I partially agree. I think we should lock Lore and the Spamusement guy in a basement and force them to make s’mores.

How in the internets did I not know about Spamusment until now? Oh rapturous joy. Followed by deep sadness upon learning that it’s no longer updated.

Lore lies! Or at least misleads. Steven Frank is no longer writing, but the guest strips are usually very much worth it. Some fail, but the best ones are fantastic in bizarre, twisted, and delightful ways.

I miss Spamusement myself. Never got much out of the guest strips either.
