Bought a condenser mic today. (A Røde NT1-A, if you’re interested.) Oh, Jesus, the thing is sensitive. You’ll be able to hear my ear wax congeal. Plus it picks up more of the bass in my voice, which is in all ways a good thing.

Let no man say I am not a fan of a bassy voice. I didn’t notice much problem with the audio in the last video Rating, though.
Which reminds; I ran across this here site today on that wacky old Internet, which strikes me as something that may interest you, and fertile grounds for a Rating, as well.

Can’t wait to hear your voice, now with more bass!

Nice mic, that! You might need a compressor too to even out the levels, though, with that.

Next up, a microphone so sensitive that we can hear Lore’s thoughts. Tune in for such gems as, “I wish they still made Smurfberry Crunch”

Just out of curiosity… given the umlauted “O” in your last name, and the name of the condenser mic you just got, do you perchance have all the ASCII memorized for Norwegian letters, or do you have to use the character map like I do? Just curious, because I find that every time I want to reference you in a sig file quote or something, I have to either drag out the character map or copy & paste your name from Wired.

Well, the ö in my last name is a Swedish letter, but I get your point. In HTML I have a few entities memorized, including the umlaut o, and I have a few key combinations on the Mac memorized, again including the umlaut o, but I don’t have ASCII codes memorized, and I don’t know how to do them in Windows.

And also: did the “ø” in the microphone’s name contribute to your purchase decision?

Nah, it was recommended to me by two of my musician friends.
