Wired News: Technology of the Beast

Those of you who enjoy comments that miss the point will particularly enjoy this one.

Comments

Regarding the comments, who would you say is more touchy: furries or fundamentalist Christian types?

Woah, attack of the clueless! And for an article that only makes fun of The Bible and not something people hold sacred, such as Second Life.

...and, exactly as you had foreseen, many negative comments have been posted by your ever-loyal reader, Miss The Point.

Best comments section ever on one of your Wired News.

Wow... attracted a lot of crazies on that one. I am impressed, but I think you can do better. I look forward to seeing twice the amount of crazies on the next column.

This was one of my favorite Alt Texts, even ignoring the comments.

Dave, overall I'd argue that furries are ever so slightly more touchy, but less likely to do anything but gripe while fundies are ever so slightly less touchy but vastly more likely to try to do more than just post rants online.

After all, the fundies have managed pass laws in several states which will forbid my cousin from enjoying the same rights I do (she's a lesbian), but I haven't seen a single bit of furry inspired legislation yet.

So how long is this new guy going to be reading your Alt Text Podcast? Because he is smarmy as hell...

I just had a horrible, sickening thought.

What if all those comments that 'miss the point' are just people playing along? And we're really the ones that are clueless that they're joking? But then the people making fun of the people that are missing the point, what if they're just playing along, too? What if everybody's playing along but me and I'm the only one that really misses the point at all? What if I'm playing along, too, and somebody else is missing the point? Points within points to be missed, recursions within recursions!

...Or maybe the fundamental christianist types really are just clueless.

Jesus (and I mean that as an interjection, not literally)! People are STILL putting clueless comments up!

Lore, forget about a weekly sort-of-tech-related column - you need to make a weekly religion column!
