Given the '2005' date on that video, and the development cycle of a game like that, I doubt they had anything to do with each other. As Lore demonstrated pretty well a little while ago, sometimes people have the same ideas.

With respect to the "interconnectivity" things - my response is "LEAVE ME ALONE!". Seriously, if I'm playing "Porn Panty Sex Lust Hunter 3", do I want everyone on the interweb to know that? Does Lore want me to know when he's watching the Paris Hilton sex tape on his cell phone?
